Dents de Chasteté
This piece is a riff on Marcel Duchamp's Coin de Chasteté (Wedge of Chastity). Similarly utilizing cast bronze and dental plastic, the piece explores sense, sensuality, and touch—part dental implant, part yonic worry stone, I think of the tension between chewing gum and an anatomical gum. Utilizing casts of my own teeth, I'm granting access to an aspect of my biological signature.
